Sound body = Sound Mind

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

Did you know that what goes on in our dog’s gut has an impact on their behavior??

Blood sugar, Serotonin and Dopamine levels influence behavior...

And a large amount of Serotonin and Dopamine are manufactured by Gut Bacteria.

Kibble,

Medications…

...Antibiotics, steroids, vaccines and pesticides (de-wormer and flea & tick are poisons),

Household chemicals…

...Pesticides/ Weed killer/ Cleaners,

Lifestyle choices…

... Inside dogs...

All affect the composition and function of our dog’s Gut Microbiome and impair their overall health.

There are things we can do to fight back and promote better gut health.

  • Invest in high quality Kibble if raw is unavailable.

  • Consider Titer testing and natural remedies for parasites

  • Regular exercise, an appropriate drive outlet along with training your dog to remain calm boosts confidence and reduces stress

  • Adding gut loving foods like blueberries, raw honey, bone broth, eggs or oily fish (sardines) - this is a very small list of gut healthy foods

  • Add probiotics to your dog’s diet

When faced with behavioral issues, it’s important to look at the whole picture.

A big part of that picture is health and environment.

While we can’t eliminate everything that negatively affects our dogs,

we CAN do our best to limit what they’re exposed to AND support and promote a healthy body.

xoxo
